Internship Overview

As an Application Support Intern, you’ll be the frontline helper for our users, ensuring they navigate the BaobabHire platform smoothly. You’ll troubleshoot issues, document solutions, and collaborate with the tech team to improve user experience—a perfect role for aspiring IT/CS professionals who love problem-solving and customer interaction!

Key Responsibilities

🔹 User Support:

Respond to user queries (job seekers, employers, consultants) via email, chat, or tickets.

Guide users through platform features (e.g., profile setup, job postings, applications).

Escalate technical bugs to the engineering team with clear repro steps.

🔹 Issue Resolution:

Diagnose common issues (e.g., login errors, payment failures, upload problems).

Test fixes and updates before they go live.

🔹 Documentation:

Create simple FAQs, video tutorials, and internal wikis for recurring issues.

Track user feedback to suggest UX improvements.

🔹 Collaboration:

Shadow senior support staff to learn troubleshooting workflows.

Assist in monitoring platform performance and outage alerts.

Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in software development with expertise in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, Java, C++, JavaScript).
  • Familiarity with front-end frameworks (React, Angular, or Vue.js) and back-end technologies (Node.js, Django, or Spring Boot).
  • Strong understanding of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
  • Knowledge of version control systems (Git).
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Required Skills

  • Basic understanding of web applications (bonus: familiarity with SaaS platforms).
  • Comfort with tools like Google Workspace, Slack, or ticketing systems (e.g., Zendesk).
  • Analytical mindset to debug issues (e.g., "Why can’t Employer X upload a job?").
     
  • Clear communication (written and verbal).
  • Patience and empathy for frustrated users.
  • Curiosity to learn about recruitment tech.

Nice-to-Have

  • Familiarity with SQL, browser DevTools, or API basics.
  • Prior internship/customer service experience.
